PBSF combines medicine with cloud technology to treat newborns at high risk of neurological injury

Brazilian company Protecting Brains & Saving Futures (PBSF) has developed a system to monitor the brain activity in newborns who are at elevated risk of neurological injury. The technology relies on a central data hub populated with information from hospitals built on Microsoft Azure. The structure supports reliable storage of more than 200,000 hours of monitoring which allows for the analysis that has become essential for the development of fresh solutions. PBSF founder Gabriel Variane says this about the company’s partnership with Microsoft and its adoption of Azure: “We’ve always thought the cloud was the smartest model for us to provide our service, and this is proving to be true.
